The latest report from the European Forum of Independent Professionals will be launched today at the European Parliament. The report "European I-Pros: A Study" has been authored by French academic Stéphane Rapelli and found that there has been an 82% increase in the numbers of independent professionals, such as freelancers and contractors since 2000.

The Independents Forum of Europe (IFE) has welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament of the Gruny Report on atypical contracts.

In the plenary session on Tuesday afternoon in Strasbourg, Parliament voted to adopt proposals set out in the own-initiative report by the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.

New Name for EFIP

The European Forum of Independent Professionals launches its new name. The organisation formally called the Independents Forum of Europe changed their name this week.  

At a meeting in Brussels members of the steering group decided  that from 1st October 2010 the name would now be the ‘European Forum of Independent Professionals’ or EFIP.
